I was hoping they would get this done before all the other big guns get their deals. Good timing and well deserved for him being on a 4th round rookie deal.

My initial reaction is this is probably the first dumb move Holmes has made. I don't care how good a player is giving a record contract is not a good move for building long term success.
That said, the silver lining is this is an extension. If you look at just the guaranteed money, it's about 20 million a year. The rest is incentives and that starts next year. The problem is, they have like 4-5 guys on the team that "deserve" contracts like this and you can't do this for everyone so why this guy and not someone else? Do they draw a name out of a hat?

This deal will probably be record setting for a few weeks or months before Lamb, Chase and Jefferson pass it.
Interesting...sounds like they haven't been too urgent to extend Goff...not saying it won't happen, but it doesn't sound urgent...maybe they want to get a feel for Hooker?
Traded up un the first for worthless Jamo. Now making a possession receiver the highest paid in the league???
Here we go again.
A little presumptuous without knowing the details of the contract. The first numbers announced is always by the agent that wants it to look better than it really is. "Here we go again" will be warranted when they give Goff $50 Million/year.
Also, in today's NFL, possession receivers are just as valuable, if not more than the 'X' guys.

ASTB and Penei along with Ragnow, Decker, Gibbs, Kerby and Anzalone are the backbone and heart of our team. In a John Malkovich Rounders accent.. I say..pay that mans his money...
I dont think youre reading it right because I see 41 mil in 2028 and 1.7 mil in 2029...leaving room for restructure? New Contract? These numbers are incorrect?

I thought the $41M in 2028 was agent fluff but I could be wrong.
ARSB said prior to the draft the one team he didn't want to draft him was the Lions.
For context:
“Three years ago, when I got that call at exactly this time, I told my brother [Equanimeous], ‘If there’s one team I don’t want to go to, that’s the Lions. Just, please, I don’t want to go to the Lions,” St. Brown said, via Eric Woodyard of ESPN. “I was happy but I was unhappy at the same time because I didn’t want to come here. But looking back on it, it’s for the best. I don’t think there’s another place where I could have done what I’ve done here, with the people that are around me, the coaches, my teammates, the fans, the city, the whole story of how everything has been going so far, I would pay for this if I could, to have this whole thing happen again. It’s a perfect story.”
