It boggles my mind...this dismissive talk of JAMO. That was our number one WR pick. He is ready and this year he will surprise people. This is a 1300 yard WR with another 500 yards in reverses. If the football Gods keep that kid healthy and keep the speed bumps in his rearview mirror this cat will be blazing this year.
I won't say Randy Moss type potential but this kid has Randy Moss like potential and he's just as fast if not faster than Moss ever was. Jamo just needs the rock deep and that's on Goff too this year to step that up.
He's a monster in the run game as well with his blocking. He is a mismatch in play action for sure. If he stays healthy he will have a huge season. He quietly had a really solid second half last season.

I’d love to see them use him more on drags and short crossers. Bama did a lot of that and his speed opened up big plays with those. I assume some of the reluctance has been him learning to beat press coverage, he didn’t see a ton of that in college because teams feared his speed so much.

I'm a little more worried about the WR depth after hearing the training camp reports. Houston is pretty deep at WR - why not give them a call and try to reunite Jamo with Metchie?

eh....
st brown, Laporta, jamo
Raymond
Some young guys
Depth, sure, but what team has elite 4-6 guys? On top of that, if I'm being honest, how do you evaluate those guys with Sudfeld "throwing" them the ball?

I just think it could be really shaky after St. Brown. If Jamo turns out to be what we all hope he can be that changes things but he is far from a sure thing. Hearing from multiple places Jamo has still been inconsistent in camp. Thought maybe DPJ would be the guy to step up, but it doesn't sound like he is. And if Amon-ra goes down? Yikes!

I’m a big fan of Jamo and I think he could have a big year. There’s still some pause there though. After that….Kalif can give you some help. I think the issue isn’t they won’t have a bunch of really good guys. It’s more that after Amon-Ra and Jamo, feels like there’s a really sharp drop off. After Raymond it feels like the rest of the guys are fringe roster guys. DPJ playing into the 4th in that Giants game felt like a bad sign.
Houston is definitely a good team to call. Noah Brown is a guy that I think would fit well.
Or maybe they’ve got another plan, they always seem to work it out. Though it sounded like Dan wasn’t really thrilled with the guys fighting for that WR3 spot the other day.

I like Brown but Houston signed him to a 1 year/$5M deal so probably wanting to keep him. Metchie seems to be the odd man out. Not sure if Bobby Trees has anything left in the tank.

Yeah, I thought of Woods, too. Might have enough to help out for one more year.

LaPorta is the Lions #2 receiver. You can say he is a TE all day long, but the dude is a receiver. He is the Lions version of Travis Kelce. In the last so many years, the KC Chiefs have never had the weirdly coveted by Lions fans, #3 WR. He has been their #1 receiver for years, only splitting that role with Tyreek for a couple years.
You throw in Gibbs and now possibly Vaki as a viable receiver threat out of the backfield, I think they are just fine with whoever they want to trot out as a "#3 receiver"

Only so many balls to go around.
I don’t completely disagree, but while Goff is good, he’s not Mahomes. Mahomes can buy so much time and make throws that so few QB’s can, it puts less pressure on the WR’s. Still KC has consistently been in the WR market in both draft and FA.
My issue is less the WR3 part and more the overall depth. After Raymond, it’s a bunch of guys that are fringe roster players. Injuries are inevitable and one of those guys having to play significant snaps can be an issue.
