I know everyone wanted a stud sack monster DE, but I think Davenport is what they wanted...they want someone who is going to collapse the end and hold contain while not allowing the underneath scramble...I am seeing the vision...this DL may not have the most sacks, but they will crush the pocket and force some bad decisions by QBs, just watch

I absolutely noticed Davenport's impact. In fact, Stafford escaped at least two additional sacks. If any QB was back there other than Stafford, the team would've had several more sacks. Not saying Staff is elusive, but with his quick reads and release, and his pocket awareness, he was able to avoid several sacks. Of course, the Rams o-line was not at its best either, so it is hard to gauge.
I don't think there is any question about the talent of the offseason additions, particularly Davis and Davenport. The main question is can they stay healthy. Both have a history of missing chunks of playing time throughout their careers.

Yeah Davenport is the exact kind of guy they wanted opposite Hutch. One of the best bull rushes in the league. If he can stay healthy, huge if, he’ll be a big help to rest of front 7.
Speaking of guys you cross your fingers they stay healthy, Levi had a good game Sunday, too.
How come it took till OT for the Lions to remember they are a run first team. OL and Montgomery were awesome in OT
CF, The OL is our bread and butter. There is only one rock. Brad OC is going to have to figure things out with Jamo in the mix. But when Zeitler is the weak link on OL things aren't too bad. OL coach Hank Fraley needs a shout out. Ever since he got here they've executed as a unit pretty damn good.
actually we started moving the ball again in 4th qtr. i think at that point the rust was gone and the 4th qtr and OT is whhat we can expect going forward.

I think the fact that the Rams D-line was completely gassed had a lot more to do with it.
I think the lions gameplan was get jamo going and run.
I thought that most the game but became even more convinced when MCDC said post game in the locker room he didn't care if they won or lost the game...I thi k there was a bigger plan in place for this game than firing on all cylinders...and Reynolds being gone was not the reason...

Say what now? I don't remember him saying that. Didn't he say a win is a win and I don't care how we do it? If he actually said he didn't care if they won or lost I would question his leadership. But no way he said that.

I think Felix left off some verbiage from his post. DC said the didn't care if they won or lost?
Also I don't think there was a bigger plan in place on offense. No way they intentionally sandbagged to execute some elaborate plan.
I think if anything Reynolds being gone changes the way they call plays and scheme. You can see the defense taking away AMSB to some degree and clogging up the middle. Also I didn't see much as far as play action passing. I think it's more trying to adjust to the players than anything. You don't have 3 WRs anymore and the D can scheme to stop ARSB. Not like LaPorta got much going eithier, Goff had a rough game too, there could be lack of confidence throwing the ball into tight windows.
No, there was a longer clip late Sunday night and I can't find it now...it was earlier in the speech than the edited version I'm seeing everywhere now....pretty sure it was right before a win is a win quote, which is why the edited it, because like you just said, that's a weird thing to say...I was like, damn, that was weird....but don't believe me, I don't really care, I know what I saw and heard
It hard to win when one QB had a 6.5 YPA and the other one had a 7.8 YPA. If Goff keeps up that average, the Lions are going to have a great season. It's not all Goff, the run game and OL had a lot to do with it. Expect St. Brown to have a good game next week, with a little less attention on him.

I do agree I feel like the initial video I saw started a little sooner. I remember something like, "It wasn't pretty...a win is a win." So not saying you didn't hear something else. I will say if he did say he didn't care if they won or lost, I'd want to know the full context of a statement like that.

The Khalif disrespect is wild in this thread. Khalif is a dawg, a legit #3. I'd rather have him at #3 than Josh Reynolds tbh. Reynolds is taller and has history with Goff but Khalif has history now too. Talks of Tim Patrick or Robinson being called up too due to Smith a DL being released.

why would there be less attention on ASB?
St. Brown was a key player in the play off win against the Rams last year with 7 catches/110 yards and the Rams didn't forget it. It looked to me like the Rams were playing him very tight and that opened thing up for Williams. I don't expect other teams will give that kind of attention to St. Brown with all the other weapons the Lions have. I predict he will have a big game next week.

watched some plays over and the interception that was thrown to st brown should have been ruled incomplete. the ball hit the ground. they showed it slow. motion and it hit the ground. never should have been an interception.look at the full highlights video thats where they show it up close and slow motion.
