I voted "no". There is still no indication whether Young was the product of an elite system surrounded by NFL caliber talent at every position, or if he has all the intangibles and skill expected of being the no. 1 overall pick. It is nearly impossible to evaluate him at this point because the Panthers organization is a trainwreck right now (reminiscent of the 00's Lions). Even with the slotted salary limits, he is still an expensive backup QB that is just as green as the guy we've got. My main concern with Young coming out of college (other than the concern I already stated) is his diminutive stature. Dude is TINY. If he is listed at 5'10" and 204 lbs, he is most likely 5'8" and 190. I can't imagine how he can even see downfield from the pocket. Hooker has an ideal frame, stronger arm, and is a dual threat. I wish Young well, but right now I'd rather develop Hooker with his skill set.

And no, I wouldn’t trade Hooker for Young. I think Young is still talented, but I worry he’s broken mentally and I don’t think this team is in the position to build that back.

I think I would, but I wouldn't feel great about it. Maybe I would feel differently if they didn't just extend Goff. Bryce is still only 23 so you could develop him for 2 years and he'll still be younger than Hooker is now. I know people like to compare him to Zach Wilson now, but I don't really buy that. Bryce had a consistent track record in college and seems to have a high football IQ.
