the Bears have been horrible drafting QBs as of late. the fact they would consider drafting Williams is a huge red flag for me as far as considering Williams. i will be glad to see Fields go elsewhere even though i thought he was a bad QB. but he killed us with his legs and that threat will be gone. Fields likely going to Atlanta.
Weren't you the one that said Stroud would suck because he went to Ohio State?
Williams is really talented. I do feel like it’s going huge boom or bust with him. Like he’ll be an Allen/Mahomes/early Russ type or a Zach Wilson/current Russ. Hard to say on the personality stuff, teams will figure that out. But I feel like his play style can only go one way or the other.
I actually feel like Fields still has a lot of upside. Don’t think he’ll ever be a great passer, but he has improved and could still get better. Atlanta definitely makes a lot of sense. Raiders, too.

Raiders made sense, until they hired the Bears OC, who didn't bring out the best in him
Agree with Boom/bust...gut tells me he's a bust, but so many talking about next generation talent that maybe he is legit. Something to consider, who are Lincoln Riley QBs in the nfl?

Baker, Kyler, Hurts.
lol, it was rhetorical...like what have rileys qbs done in the nfl? Hurts had a good season, TBD if he can have a great career...same with Mayfield, really. But getting a rich gannon vibe from mayfield...mediocre early stats, good second half of career

I don’t know about Williams, but I’ve never loved the whole system QB thing. Stroud had it with Ohio State. Mahomes had the Texas Tech system. Way back Rodgers was a Jeff Tedford guy and those guys historically struggled which was likely part of the reason he dropped.

not the whole thing with Williams, to me, just a throw in observation.
He may be fine, but getting such diva/drama vibes from him ....I just can't help but think he's going to be a cancer and/or require so many resources if he is decent...think lonzo ball, in basketball references
what would be hillarious is if. the bears traded Fields and then. the bears draft Williams but he says he wont play for the Bears. LOL. wont be the first time thats happened.
I like bringing Mosley back, just hope it was cheap....let's of upside if cheap
Meh...back to back torn ACLs...won't be all the way back until 2025, so any upside won't be realized until then (if ever).
I think 9-10 months recovery is pretty standard now days...he was injured first week of oct...that puts him at July- Aug...so call it sept for full heal...hardly losing another season

Well, he tore the left one almost exactly a year prior and didn't make it back on the field until 12 months later. At that point his left knee probably still wasn't 100% and now he'll have to rehab the right one while he probably never got to fully rehabilitate the left one. Uphill battle for sure. I'm sure it's close to a veteran minimum deal so probably not that big of a deal but I'll be surprised if he makes even a minor impact in 2024 or even beyond. Plus think about the mental aspect of coming back from two torn knees a year apart.

I’m fairly certain there was some type of complication that set him back in recovery last year.
Either way, I don’t think they’re putting all their eggs in the basket with him.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I remember MC/DC saying he had some kind of set back at one point. But that's kind of my point...dude will likely be rehabbing not just 1 knee but also a 2nd knee to an extent. And even before the first ACL, it's not like he was a beacon of health then either. He missed games with a knee issue in 2021 as well as an ankle issue. He's only played a full season one time in his career and that was with limited snaps. Some dudes just aren't built for the NFL.
In any event, we've probably already spent way too much time discussing the signing as I think we all agree it will be low money, and who knows maybe there will even be an easy out before the season depending on progress, physicals, etc.
i have a feeling Holmes will trade up to get one of the top CBs. he up.isnt afraid to trade up. things are setting up that way IMO. depth is getting filled right now. trade up for CB and/or DE.
