Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Possible just some long term concerns with the knee.
Seems like 9.5 times out of 10 when a guy slips like that with no real obvious reason it ends up being validated. I know fans don't like to admit it but NFL teams are privy to more information than they are.
I mean it’s hard to say, because we don’t really know how many guys are truly being red flagged for medical. We hear some, but I think we also hear it sometimes and it’s also just the league may not be as high on some of the guys as projected.,,
You hope he’s more Trey Smith who was thought of as a late day 1/early day 2 guy at one point in college and ended up going late day 3 and has been very good for the Chiefs. Mahogany is different, seemed like he was a late day 2/early day 3 projection, so it’s possible it wasn’t just medical for some teams, could be fit, too.

UDFA list:
WR – Isaiah Williams, Illinois WR – Jalon Calhoun, Duke C – Bryan Hudson, Louisville C – Duke Clemens, UCLA EDGE- Isaac Ukwu, Ole Miss EDGE – Nate Lynn, William & Mary LB – DaRon Gilbert, Northern Illinois LB – Steele Chambers, Ohio State LS – Hogan Hatten, Idaho
I liked Cephus. He was on his way to being serviceable before he got hurt and then of course the other stuff. And don't forget his injury accelerated ARSB's progress significantly.

So alternate reality question - what could the draft look like without the trade up for Arnold in the first round? Yes, I'm aware not doing that trade can cause a domino effect on the rest of the picks but just for fun let's assume Arnold gets picked there and everything else falls as it did. So say the Lions take one of the second tier CBs at 29 (Wiggins, Kool-aid, DeJean, Lassiter). I'd even put Rakestraw in there but let's just say the Lions take him at 61 anyway in this alternate reality. Personally of those tier 2 guys I like Kool-aid so let's say they take Kool-Aid and Rakestraw. Then with the 3rd round pick they traded away they take someone like Beebe, Ellis, Haynes or Burton?
I still trust in Holmes but interesting to think about what could have been. I do think Arnold needs to be close to all-pro level to justify that trade (or all those tier 2 CBs end up being mediocre or worse).
So, crack a cold one...if you drink or hit that CBD pen or both, let the body chemistry coagulate and commence...because since I was a fetus listening to a Lions game on the radio in Mom's womb, when Greg Landry ran that 1 yard sweep and Charlie Sanders got that tipped pass, I have never been privy to a more solid Lions team! I have been a Lions fan since before I even took my first Earthly breath of O2. I was living off the boxed wine fumes of Big Moms hearing names like Alex Karras and Dexter Bussey. Hut, hut...the football lingo flowed through my newly formed synapses before I could even walk or cry. In years past, if we had three good players, things were looking up, but for the first time since I learned to tie the shoelaces on my Honolulu Blue Adidas, the Detroit Lions are looking tough. This is the first time when I can honestly say that kicker maybe our weakest position. Oh to draft a rookie K named Jason Hansen right now...
All that said, we filled a major void with this draft. As we know Cam Sutton got cranked up then did some stupid shit, so our CB department was in desperate need of an infusion. Welp, hello infusion of talent. Personally, I like the Brian Branch - Terrion Arnold - Jaymr Gibbs - Jamo connection...Alabama strong. They will push each other I feel like other players perhaps couldn't. This cuts deep. Good job getting Arnold, to potentially replace Cam and with Davis, Robertson, Rakeshaw Jr, Jerry Jacobs will be back, our safeties are stout and our DB backfield will be fire. Straight up petrol boys! Let's see Jamo get over 1,000 because it MUST happen and that is just like that added weapon that cannot be denied if he gets going, like when Megatron would go nuts every now and then for 200 and 3td's...we need that bad. Ole Henry Ford, your daughter finally got it right. You'd be proud. Where you got too involved in every aspect of the team, Sheila Ford Hamp let's the professionals handle it all. Smart move. I like that approach and she does what is needed for Detroit Football. The owner means a lot in this league and she came around at the right time...
Let's goooo
Good draft....we addressed our weakness nicely and if anyone gets a chance to grab up some Billy Sims BBQ, do it! I got to shake the man's hand finally a few months back. Always support the first #20 that brought in lifelong fans like myself, to the point that I was pissed at this rookie named Barry Sanders, who took my favorite players number. Well, that disdain lasted about two games before I realized that I was wrong. Billy brought excitement to Detroit Football like no one before him and Barry straight up electrified it. Now, every position seems solid. Knock on wood.
I knew they were going to take Vaki. Wasn’t a more Lions player in this draft. Sounds like they’re viewing him as a RB. Maybe a kick return option too with new rule.
I know nothing of the guy from Canada other than he’s a massive and a good athlete. Giving up a 3rd is a lot, we’ll see.
Did they give the Eagles back the 4th that they gave the Lions for Swift in the Vaki trade?
At 6-8, 350 he ran a sub 5 40. From what I'm reading, run blocking is his strength, pass blocking is a weakness. Sounds like a RT project once Sewell moves to LT

tldr: who cares?
while I appreciate the attempt...who cares? While in the top 10, it's a little fun to play the what if game...but at pick 30? Too many not top tier players to start this game. Lo siento, senior

It's post-draft NFL season...literally nothing interesting to talk about for the next 3 months or so...but you do your thing Felix.
Manu had 11 pre draft visits with NFL teams so others had eyes on him as well. we might have reached but we might have a gem as well. see what Fraley can do with him.
I asked a CFL GM with more knowledge on Giovanni Manu this is what he said; “I think every CFL GM said, ‘Please don’t make too much noise’ — he got a lot of attention from NFL teams. He’s a fantastic player. I said to my scouting staff that the two ideal places where he could reach his potential in the NFL were Detroit or Philly. No slight to the other teams, but both of those teams can take the time to develop his skillset. He can grow and mature with the tackles in those two organizations, and the GMs are forward thinkers. The Lions’ offensive line was one of the best in the NFL. Great coaching is what he will need to succeed, and he will get that in Detroit. Can he step in right away? For a game or two, but his biggest priority is to learn. He’s an athlete. It’s all about learning; that’s it. If any other team takes him besides those two, I’d wonder if he’ll succeed. He will in Detroit. I compare him to Jordan Mailata of the Eagles—let him learn, watch him grow. He comes from a good program with the same mentality Detroit has.”

i remember greg landry. gutsy QB. been a lions fan all my life even though now i live in Arizona. Barry, CJ, Stafford. but we never had a top to bottom team like we do now. amazing what a good GM can do.
