Salary cap was a huge issue under Millen & Mayhew. Hasn’t been as much of an issue with Quinn - his biggest issues have been the draft and overpaying for free agents that had already peaked.
Stafford’s cap hit is comical at this point for what he has done but it’s not really an issue right now given the space available and the ever-increasing cap and the carry over they will have.
He really just shouldn’t sign vets from Green Bay.

I continue to bring up Stafford because I never want to see another situation like Stafford or even Harrington again. The Lions continued to play Harrington for four straight years, even though he clearly didn't have NFL talent. The Lions can't afford to over pay another NON-difference maker QB again! Using so much of the teams resources on one (non-game changer) player over the coarse of many years sets back the team so far they can not get caught up. They need to change the entire way they do business!
Patriots are good because Brady is worth the money he is paid and they spend on the rest of the team wisely! If NE didn't have Brady and drafted Stafford, they would have never gave him a second contract!
