I don't see a lot of discussion regarding Glasgow. Appears the Lions have a replacement already on the roster who is as good or better. Glasgow has been tough and durable and pretty good wherever he has played. So good he will command more money than the lions are willing to pay for that position and Glasgow's talent level. As a diehard lion fan I personally am sad to see him go.
I’d personally like to see them keep Glasgow, but my guess is it’s less about Glasgow and more about how they value the Guard position at this point.
I think they feel Guard has say C value and you’d have to pay Glasgow near an A level contract and likely get B play on return. In their mind they can pay someone C level and get C level play but allocate that extra money on a position they value more and get a better return. Could also draft someone and possibly get maximum value on contract while getting C/B level play.
I think that was part of the guard rotation last year. I’m sure they have data on how the OL performed with different combinations of the 3 in there and how big the drop off was when Glasgow wasn’t in there.
I think one thing they’re probably overlooking is his versatility and the ability to play C if something happens to Ragnow.

The rotational OG thingy. I suppose if you can find 3 OG that you can rotate with success, that's probably a good thing. They do that on the DL's on every team in the NFL. Somehow I think the thought process must be 3 pretty good OG's is better than 1 great OG that will flee in FA once eligible. Easier to reload and cheaper to maintain. Maybe it cuts back on injury time by reducing the amount of snaps and improves performance over the entire game. Must be a analytical calculation, they can analyse every play and evaluate (Micro manage). Warford, Tomlinson,Reiff....There is a history of letting these guys go or trading them before the big Contract comes up. I think all these guys were pretty "Decent" players..Warford being the best of that bunch.
I think Burrow and Tua are really good QB prospects. Just seeing way too many crazy comps and words like “generational” being used a little too freely.
Talent-wise, I do think Tua is a generational prospect and a better prospect than Burrow...
I wanna bet you on this...lets just put bragging rights on this one at some point in the future....I think Burrow is the generational talent...that kid has so much poise, touch and accuracy it was sick....he is a manning type of prospect to me, which is generational, not hyperbole...

They can let Glasgow go, what you'd be paying him in free agency isn't worth it. i'd be looking at who I can get that's quality on 1 year deals and roll with it and don't super extend it out as this team is gonna need a rebuild regardless. You wanna play to win than offer a ton of 1 year deals upgrade and than have tons of flexability for 2021. they better not sign Melvin Gordon either.
Pass rusher , o linemen ( can always kick wagner inside to Guard if you sign a quality O tackle ) , d tackles. Littleton from the rams is fine also, very good in coverage, cut Kennard and save 5.5 million on the cap..
I just got a feeling Quinn and Patricia to save their jobs is gonna do some really stupid stuff that's gonna screw us bigtime long term just to try and save their hides for the 2020 season.

I like Burrow better, don’t think he’s generational, but really good. Just hope the Bengals don’t blow it with him.
They’re both really good prospects, where they end up may be a big factor.
Quinn and Patricia are not in danger of losing their jobs. I don't care what the front office says, they bought in and are going to see these guys for at least 2 more years. QB question? Eh, we're not in it so I don't care. If Tua is there and we get no trade offers I would take him, because the second you do the phone would start ringing. We can trade out and still get 1 of the 3 guys we could use and still add picks. If Young is there you run to the podium and don't look back.

I'm game. Problem is it might be 10 years before it's settled. And what would be the deciding factor? HOF career with multiple Superbowl appearances? Or are you just saying Burrow will be better than Tua? That wouldn't surprise me. I think Tua is riskier but has a higher ceiling.
I’m not sure I’d do it for 18. I think there’s a clear gap at the top and then a huge group after that. The only thing that gives me pause is I do think Okudah is a top tier CB. But if he ends up getting picked at 4....As much as I like Simmons, I can’t see them taking him at 5 and you may really regret losing out on Young. This kind of goes to my trade down topic. I think there’s some elite talents and then I think you have a group that I think isn’t separated by much that will go in the next 20-30 picks.

I agree with all of this. Young is a great Player and he is also a great player of Need. With Young on the team coupled with Flowers....Serious Pass rush. Still need a big body in the middle. DJ Reader perhaps. But this shores up the DL...Young and Reader. If Young is not there....Somebody needs to show some serious love for that #3 Pick.....or we take Tua. If Stafford stays Healthy for a few years more, Then Tua is getting an Aaron Rodgers like Baptism for a couple of years. That would be something different from a Lions front office. I hate to think all the way back to Andre Ware...That was Bad, at least that was a #7, Chuck Long was a #12. Harrington in at #3....What the hey...let's do it again
Birkett mentioned they like where Crosby is. Hope they have some insurance, not sure I’d make that leap yet.
If Crosby isn't ready by now I think it's safe to say that is yet another blown Quinn pick. I remember when he slipped we all wondered why well I guess now we know. Obviously only a 5th round pick so not the end of the world but if that's who they're counting on to be the starting RT that is scary.

Him being in the conversation for the job is a plus really. In reality, being quality depth would satisfy the 5th they spend. If he ends up starting, big if, and is average that’s a win.
He will probably cost $17+ mill for a 33 yo DE if he renegotiates with the Ravens. That's a lot of cheddar for an older player, but they are on the cusp of going to the Superbowl and they need to do everything they can before having to pay Jackson in a few years. The draft pick is immaterial.
