The governor needs to establish appropriate safety procedures however I agree that not every place has the same risks. If we had instant testing, we wouldn't be in this situation. The federal government had a warning and did nothing!!!
Blogs mother hasn't left the house in weeks and her oldest son came over to visit for an hour the other day and now she is on a ventilator in the hospital. This is fucking terrible! People must take this serious!
Now we are having meat packing plants shut down nationwide due to a virus outbreaks at the processing plants. You have in a lot of states, small businesses being forced to shut down. How many of those support farming? We are looking at mass bankruptcies is Michigan. A landscaper cant cut grass, or a nursery sell deliver stone to a customer...but home depot can do it.
There needs to be balance...there needs to be some intelligent plans. Businesses can remain open and the virus could be contained.....If people just wore a home made fucking mask!!!!
Now you have a double edged sword, critical supply and food shortages and economic collapse.

Only a 20% chance of recovery once you are on a ventilator. She is in stable condition at the moment.
Interesting approach in Sweden. The USA is not ready for Sweden's approach until we have mass home testing, proper protocol, and enough masks, hospital beds, ventilators ect. We need to get this shit done!! This virus is not going away! This is the one fucking time I depend on the federal Government to step up and they letting us down big time.
As a DoD contractor I'm working every day in a cubicle farm w/a bunch of computer nerds that all seem to have pollen allergies. It's a constant cough and sneeze fest. But so far everything is good. I truly hope everyone here is doing well and staying healthy. Looking forward to the "fuck the Lions" talk during the season.

Before the season, during the season and after the season. Only 13 cases in the county I live in, no deaths.
Blogs mother passed away the other day because of this virus. I am looking for a light at the end of the tunnel but I don't see one yet. I think the only way to get to some kind of normalcy in the near future is rapid testing that we can take at home daily.
in the near future is rapid testing that we can take at home daily.
the liklihood of that kind of testing at home is not feasible anytime soon, just because of the complexity of how detection of viruses. Current detection methods for viruses are usually done on instruments that can cost many thousands of dollars. Bacteria and viruses are too completely different beasts in case you are wondering. If someone can develop an at home test to detect pathogens, they would probably win the Nobel Prize.

I am so sorry to hear about Blog's mom. May he and his family find peace and comfort during this time of grief.

I'm sorry to hear about Blog's mother. That's a terrible shame. I feel like this pandemic will result in some form of "take of your shoes off at the airport" ritual that will be incorporated into our day to day lives. Maybe that's masks, maybe that's "no group shoppers", maybe that's temp scans or spit tests (COVID test like DNA tests) before going to Disneyland. I don't know what it will be, but I'm sure there will be something that at least looks like prevention even if it's not effective, like shoes at the airport.
I asked God for a bike, but God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike, and asked God for forgiveness.

What about an at home antibodies test?
Definitely not an antibody test, too complex.
The only thing that could be developed is a test to identify antigens from the virus and even then I speculate it would not be a very accurate test.
But then again, I will not discredit the possibility, there are a lot of very smart researchers out there. Too bad money usually gets in the way of true innovation.

Very sorry to hear, thoughts and prayers for the family. .
