Kiper is looking more like beaker from the Muppets more and more. Hopefully we go o line or d line in the second round. If not then rb and anything other than that Quinn can go f himself
you can't bitch about a trade down when essentially no trades were made. The covid-19 issue screwed the Lions.
I have no issue with Okudah but I really wish they could have traded down. I did really want Simmons but am fine with Okudah
I think you have a point. Other than the trade that NE got, every other trade was pretty underwhelming.
I don't think we had any shot of trading down. Never believed it for one second. Just the way the teams lined up and the needs, it made no sense whatsoever for any team to give up picks to move up in the top 10. People denied it, but it was true. Personally I think all teams in the top 8 got the player they wanted all along.

That's why the Lions should have drafted Tua and dealt him right away. I guarantee Miami would have given the #5 and #18 and you still get Okudah.

They didn't make a big enough deal about Tua to make Miami think they were going to take him and force a trade.
I'm not big on Tua and I think he is risky with the injury, but he could have been worth the risk if someone wanted to trade for him or maybe you could have dealt him in a a couple years and got big trade value for him down the road.
Are the Lions any better by taking Okudah? No,they were just filling a hole that was there when they traded Slay for a bag of dicks. He is a rookie, so we will see if he is as good as Slay.

The Lions are better taking Okudah than they would have been taking Tua. Okudah will at least be on the field. No way Tua sees the field if he was selected by Detroit.
Taking Tua to make the Dolphins trade is assinine. No team does that unless the player forces their hand a la Eli Manning, Elway...

you forget about trufant?
Truant and Slay would have been a good combo...then this pick would have been an upgrade to the team. They were just filling holes with another corner. The lack of pass rush is a great argument.... a rookie corner with Matty Ps drop 3 scheme may get eaten alive.

Lets see here
As I predicted a month ago here while some people here cried like some sallys that what happened wouldn't happened.
I said no way we would be able to trade down from 3 because we have Stafford and the Giants at 4 having Jones proived oh so true last night, even though I got destroyed by many on here a month ago for saying it. Than boom it happens to the T and we take an Overrated corner in Okudah and thus yet again Quinn and patricia fuck up the draft .
the only shocking thing that did not happen was the seahawks trading back
The Lions besides the Falcons I felt had the worst draft last night !
Hopefully we can make it up today but I doubt it with this front office and coaching staff.
I guarantee the Lions take Tua, then the Dolphins take Herbert and the Chargers just take Simmons or something.
I would say yeah maybe Miami takes Herbert, but then you probably have the option to trade Tua to the Chargers and still get Okudah and an extra draft pick.

So Quinn is saying they talked to a lot of teams, but none of them put an offer on the table. So why wouldn't he throw an offer out there? The worst that happens is they turn it down.

I like Okudah but I feel like Quinn could have done so much more, even a 2nd round pick and move back to 5th overall would still have gotten you your guy and more draft capital than you traded your best defensive player for, it's just disappointing.
