Don't you think it looks desperate when you are the one with the higher pick and ask for compensation? That would tell me that you are desparate and not worth dealing with.
Face facts guys, no trade down was EVER going to happen. not without the Lions losing out.
You probably think the Packers pick was one of the best too!
I think what the Packers did was stupid, but like I said earlier, it's really gonna suck if Rodgers plays for 2 more years with them and then Love steps in and they don't skip a beat.

I don't think Love is close to being the prospect that Rodgers was.
I put a poll up asking what the minimum you would take to move down
10 votes 6 needed a 2nd round plus more or 1st round to move down 2 needed a minimum 2nd to move down 2 needed a 3rd
In my opinion, the only ones that can possibly complain are the two that voted a 3rd
Miami wasn't going to give up more because there was no urgency to do it
Remember, NO trades were made in the top 12 picks. Giants also wanted to move down. Many other top 10 teams were rumored to want to move down also.
If you don't like Okudah, that is a different story
Fair enough, but I would have been willing to accept less as the clock ticked down, especially if it was only to move down 2 or 3 spots. And I also would have been willing to move much further down to the second half of the round which Quinn didn't seem willing to do.
So Quinn is saying they talked to a lot of teams, but none of them put an offer on the table. So why wouldn't he throw an offer out there? The worst that happens is they turn it down.
I don’t think he got a “formal” offer because he set a price in conversations and teams weren’t going to go there. I think he used his words carefully.

The Packers made a boom or bust move with Drafting Love, they see the physical intangibles - he could be a similar version of WIlson ro Mahomes, or he could be Brett Hundley/ Deshone Kizer
The packers drafted Rodgers when favre was the same age as Rodgers is now when they drafted Love. Its not like this was unexpected as some mocks
had it.
the packers really wanted Murray or Wr and when they all went they decided to trade up and get the QB
lots of WR for them to get day 2
FUCK THE PACKERS
As for the Falcons, Terrell is not a bad player I just think 16 was way way way too high to take him, I also think the raiders taking arnette at 19 was a bit high but I can also see why they did it. But them getting Riggs at 13 . I like riggs a lot more than just his 4,27 as he has some really good hands and I fele his route running is underrated and will open things up even more for Josh Jacobs and that running game.

Like I said a month ago and a lot of you were giving em shit, and it happened with nobody wanting to trade up wwith us at 3
You don't go out as an organization and flat out tell everybiody STafford is your guy when your trying to build anticipation and sucker teams into trading up, especially if your gonna keep Stafford you should be telling him the gameplan, but him and hus BUTTHURT ass fake breasted wife so hurt over the rumors and basically forced Quinn to have to let the whole world know the 27 million per year dollar prima donna was our guy thus killing any chance of a team wanting to trade up.
especially for a Bum with a 10-66 record in 11 seasons against over .500 teams with 0 division titles and 0 playoff wins to show for it when even Tim Tebow has a playoff win .
This front office ain't shit
The LIONS did it to themselves as to why nobody was dumb enough to move up to 3 more than anybody else. Blame Quinn and the butthurt feelings of the Staffords more than anybody as to why nobody wanted to move up.
sigh...it has nothing to do with giants or stafford or anything...if 3 teams are hot for 1 qb, they would trade up as far as they had to to secure their guy....the fact is, with his injury, Tua was a risk and no one was going to spend additional capital to get him....has nothing to do with the lions not playing it right...it really isnt that complicated....

The Lions could of easily put out info they weren't happy with Stafford while telling them ahead of time. It is nice to see you finally agreed with my logic once the inevitable happened.
This fanbase better be ready to draft #1 overall in 2021. Question is, will Lawrence even wanna come here , I doubt it .

I do agree with you, but I have a hard time believing Quinn couldn't have been more aggressive, to the point of even actually drafting Tua just to trade him right after.

So why did the Packers trade with Dolphins to get Love? Why did they jump 3 teams that didn’t need QB’s?

I don't know, they did what they could in that area, I think. Didn't they "bring in" both Tua and Herbert for interviews?

I think this a great theory as long as you aren’t the GM/Coach with a job on the line.

Very true. But I also would have been okay with getting "stuck" with Tua if my plan backfired. But yeah, your point is valid since Quinn probably won't be around to see him play anyway.
Fine. I'll say it. If you think the Lions had a shot at a trade, you aren't paying attention to the facts and you are remaining willfully ignorant for no other reason than to have a problem. If you think that the Lions could have "outsmarted" 31 other franchises by pretending that they didn't want to keep the best QB this organization has ever had in what is considered his prime, then you're a fucking idiot. There's just no way to sugarcoat it... you're stupid.
I asked God for a bike, but God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike, and asked God for forgiveness.

Again. They didn’t have to sell that they were going to move on from Stafford. They just had to sell that someone else wanted to come up and get a QB.
Miami drafted Tua at 5 and then GB moved up to their pick at 26 and jumped 3 teams that didn’t need QB’s to take Jordan Love.
I think the bigger issue was teams having Tua/Hebert close and the COVID stuff creating havoc with visits/medicals.

Not only that, but it wouldn't have been out of the realm of possibility for the Lions to draft a QB and still not move on from Stafford in the next 2 years.
