Rashan Gary has a torn labrum. Another guy that will drop.
Hopefully he is now off the table for the Lions at 8.
I actually like Gary. Wasn’t crazy about him at 8, but he is the exact kind of guy that fits on the DL. A lot like Flowers, he can move all over the DL, he has elite athleticism that could be way better utilized then it was at Michigan.
Chris Harris has requested a trade, Quinn needs to get on the phone.
He wants over $11 million a year. I assume he would need at least a 3 year deal. If he were the final piece to the puzzle, I would say pull the trigger. He isn't.

The only guys I think are “final piece to the puzzle” are QB’s. So if you have one that’s decent, you should accumulate as much talent as possible and go for it.

I heard he is requesting closer to $15 million per year and wants to be the highest paid CB. Could be agent talk too.

Well, I think there is validity to saying a team that needs to fill as many holes as the Lions shouldn't be giving big contracts to too many individual players. I think between Stafford, Slay, Wagner, and when some of these backloaded contracts like Flowers really kick in, adding another big contract to a guy like Harris would really impede our ability to "accumulate as much talent as possible."

The Lions are 43 million under the cap next year without any cuts or carryover(sitting on nearly 28 million now).
The Lions can move on from Wagner next season and save 6, so his contract isn’t going to do much.
You’re also not signing Harris for 6 years, likely 3-4(which is really 2 or 3). You’re signing him to try and do damage in the window over the next couple years. They have the cap flexibility to do that.
I don’t think we will take deckers 5th year option. So I can easily see him being trade bait to move up in the draft or to get a veteran player we want. I want bush at 8. Davis can b moved to stand up blitzed eliminating his liability as a pass defender.

Pretty much impossible to trade a guy at fair value who is still on their rookie contract and has at least been serviceable (especially a LT). Unless Decker really regresses this year they will pick up his fifth year option. Agree on Davis. Bush wouldn't kill me but would rather trade down and get him.

On a scale of 1 to 5. 5 being the best. I give this draft the Finger. Areas of concern, umm RT ? Anyone? Bueller? But I get it now. The old bat is running the show and she knows nothing about football, so instead of letting Quinn and Matty P make their choices she wanted a check down Charlie i.e. Tony Hock to pad Staffords stats as we descend further into oblivion and an 6-10 season. Quin wants his paycheck. He is a yes mam, so there we go. The Fords are crushing the Lions fans. End Of Story

People are making way too much of the reaction videos.
That said, I'm not impressed with Quinn's drafts so far. I feel like they have a plan and that's nice but if it doesn't result in playoff wins this year he needs to go. If he's building something he's running out of time. The Hockenson pick was just stupid and shows that nothing has changed. Oruwariye was the best pick but you have to wonder why he slipped that much. And the fact that they didn't draft a QB in the last few rounds shows how clueless they are. This team will be 6-8 level wins the next year or so and then with no QB they will be the laughingstock of the league again.
I think they got some potential value in the later rounds.
Never like A TE that early, and the 2nd round pick...I think they are trying too hard to find the next Hightower when there was some legit talent on the board they could have targeted versus more of a project player.
