When he was sitting around I was thinking he’d be a nice fit. Really started to like the idea of Branch being drafted for that role(still could), but now they added one of the prototypes for that role.
Makes you wonder how much faith they have in Walker. Probably wise given the history of torn achilles.
They just re-structured his deal, so can’t imagine they’re too worried about him.
With CGJ’s ability to play slot and both Saftey spots, he’s more a movable piece. I wondered if they would transition Okudah to something like that, kind of how they used him in that Dallas game. Now it feels they may have a bigger decision to make with him.
really looking like richardson might be the pick. wouldnt be surprised of holmes traded both 1st rounders for him
I must admit, I am all about the potential to draft a QB like him. Maybe the Lions will, but a part of me also thinks they are going all in with Goff. Goff while not flashy arguably had the best season of any Lions QB I can remember. The division is weak and ripe for the taking. Holmes for the first time has been really busy in FA and by all appearances they are looking to make a playoff run this season. They were one of the best teams in the NFL second half of last year and that was before adding 3 quality players to the secondary and Glasgow at OG, while also getting better at RB.

Goff isn't going anywhere. They're spending aggressively on short-term contracts. They've made significant investments in that offensive line, and they're looking to make a serious run right now, while it's still intact. Drafting a QB would just disrupt things. We don't need to put Goff on notice or create controversy with the fans. Just ride this thing out and see where it goes in 2023. Then reassess.

I don't disagree with the logic, but if things go how we all hope, this might be the last time for a while they're in a great position to draft a potential franchise-altering QB.
