I think there is some over reaction here at WR. Even without Jamo getting PT we still have a good WR squad. I'd like to see khalif Raymond get more targets. The guy just makes plays. Josh Reynolds is no joke and has a good feel for Goff since they were in LA. That connection is money. amon St Brown is a rock. A tougher Golden Tate in his prime imo. Laporta seems a worthy pass catching threat and don't knock my man Brock Wright. That said. Gibbs really gives the D fits and they should implement a two back set. I saw Cabinda ahead on Montgomery back there. Why not Montgomery ahead of Gibbs. Keep them both out there. Sorry not the biggest Cabinda fan. He's a good special teams guy. That said Antoine Green has a ton of potential and regarding MJJ ..why not give Antoine Green more reps but rest assured MJJ is the type of guy who bounces back and puts up 100 yards. That wouldn't surprise me. Khalif and Gibbs need more touches. Add the threat of Jamo week 7 and you mofos won't even remember DJ Chark.
LaPorta is a solid blocker man. Campbell had some nice plays. Gibbs is going to be a mother fucker too. We already knew the kid from Bama was a gamer in the secondary.
The secondary played pretty well. Kerby didn't have his best game, but CJ was a solid signing.
The running game was stout. Montgomery looks slower than he actually is, but he is a big powerful guy. They get Gibbs going that will be rediculous. That OL took over in the 4th quarter.
The refs were ignoring the holding and offsides all day by the KC OTs. It was terrible! Would have been a different game with Kelcy in there for KC but it is a great win. Lions look like a nasty team to play.

On any other team, these are just "guys." They're like glorified versions of Tom Kennedy. They're reliable and don't drop that many balls, run discipline3d routes, be at the right spots, etc.
There's nothing wrong with them. They're good guys to have. Every team needs them.
On a powerhouse offense, they're your secondary reads. Security blankets.
If you add a true WR1, now you're looking at a game-changer offense. A "greatest show on turf" offense where St. Brown is your Isaac Bruce, we already have our Marshall Faulk, but we're missing our Torry Holt. We got the Az Zahir Akims ground covered. Too many of those. We got our Chris Carter, but we're missing our Randy Moss.
But holy fuck if the lions didn't get the critical calls in the crucial minutes...its like a light bulb went on for me...the refs may not call every penalty, but they call the "important" ones because maybe they let 5 go, but aren't going to for the big play....
I look at this situation much differently
You know its bad when Collingsworth was calling out the OT false starts and deep alignment all game. Clearly the refs were putting the Lions at a disadvantage all game allowing this to happen and the blatant ridiculous holds committed by the KC OL.
The only reason the false start and holding was called on KC's last offensive possession was because the refs HAD to call them. The false start was SOOO early it could not have been let go, and the hold was SOOO bad on a free shot up the middle on the QB that the refs could NOT let it go, these missed calls would be blatant ref fixing in the NFL. The refs and NFL are already going to be scrutinized but allowing the OTS from KC jump offsides essentially every snap and align as a slot in the backfield.

That would be great and all, but how often do you see 2 future HOF WRs on the same team? Like once every 10 years?
Maybe the Lions should trade for Hollywood Brown to keep the seat warm for Jamo.

We don't need two hall-of-famers. I'll settle for "We got our Johnny Morton, we need our Brett Perriman (bonus points for a Herman Moore but not holding my breath)."
Swift ran for 175 yards on 28 carries lol in a Philly win last night. Welp
He was good for one or two of these games every year before getting hurt and being average upon return.
The Vikings run defense was garbage last night, combined with Philly having one of the best (if not the best) Oline in the league, makes sense. Probably an emotional game for him playing in his hometown.
Dude asked for trade after they drafted Gibbs, not sure why Lions fans care that much anymore or take this as a slight to the organization.

Yep a few of these games a year. At any rate maybe even more motivation for Gibbs who I bet might have a breakout game

What's there to to even talk about?
He's a running back. Who was injured a lot. Wow, stop the press. Running backs getting injured? Who's heard of such a thing.
But sometimes he wasn't. And when he wasn't injured he was good. And when he was, he wasn't.
You line 'em up, give 'em the ball, hope for the best. If they give you a few good games here and there, awesome. That's a a few games you wouldn't have otherwise had. You have two or three of them, and if you can get 10 to 12 games of healthy production between the lot of them, call it a success.
Getting wrapped up in any of this is pointless. It's like going to Vegas, and you're just hoping not to get burned too badly, and the money you lose just gets chalked up to entertainment expenses. Set aside a certain amount for entertainment, and when that's gone, you put the debit card behind a lock, and if you come out ahead, you blow it on strippers.

We got a little glimpse if Gibbs, but he does things no prior back could have done on the roster.
He is more of a Javid Best type. He can run out of a shotgun and hit the edge better than Swift not to mention is anotjer WR. I see why they added the dimension to the offense.
I am not worried about Swift because he will not hold up all season and dancea around too much.

It's pretty telling that Philly's o-line was opening huge holes all night long, simply based on the fact that the backup RB averaged 8 yds per carry on the night. I'm happy for Swift, but he wasn't drafted by this regime, and clearly didn't fit in with the character this regime wants.

I saw something that it was like 119 of his yds were before first contact...
