One thing I've noticed...literally 10s of minutes of coverage talking about the Chiefs, Mahommes, Kelce, Jones, Toney, Moore...no one is talking about the Lions...at all 🤣
Chiefs favored by 6.5 with a 54.5 O/U
Had espn on most of the day...no one is giving Lions a shot...

Lions have a legit shot at hanging in there and making some noise. It's fun being the underdog and not dreading the thought of watching. If they win, it's just gravy. I look forward to a good game that isn't a blowout.
54 would be a decent under bet, since it is the first game. Just my logic, rust and all. That said with the o/u dropping to 52.5 and it being a clear, calm, good weather eve of about 77 degrees, it is a tough bet to go under now. I think the line is dropping to 4.5 because there are a lot of bets on the Lions and the under. This says the general gambler likes the Lions defense, it would seem. Or Kelce doesn't look to play much if any. The overall score might be a lot closer to 52, like 28-24, man Vegas is on it. I won't be touching any bets here, just looking for a Lions upset. I have no predictions, at this moment on anything. But reading the betting tea leaves, people seem to like the Lions

You must be watching different networks/reading different sources/listening to different podcasts than I do. Admittedly I don't think I've watched anything on ESPN outside of live games in probably 10+ years. I've definitely heard more stuff about the Lions and it's not like I listen to/watch any of the local Detroit stuff. I know Peter Schrager picked the Lions to beat the Chiefs and has been raving about them all offseason.
As for the game, I actually want Kelce to play. Just for the off chance the Lions actually win, I don't want to have to hear everyone say it was only because Jones and Kelce were out.

I mean, you would think, but you want to know the weird part....there's more bets on kc...the only thing I can think is while there is higher percentage of bets for kc, maybe the money is on detroit? Orrr...Vegas thinks (knows) Lions are going to win...

I'm not talking about the off-season as a whole, I'm talking this week/today/lead in to the game...and yeah, I'm just flipping between espn and nfln while working, no talk radio, podcasts, local detroit news, etc...90% is about chiefs...
One thing I realized today no one is talking about...chiefs have a new OC...no idea how that will impact things...

Yeah I'm talking about this week as well. I've definitely heard a lot of Lions stuff specific to the Chiefs game. Sure, most ANALysts are picking the Chiefs, but I've seen a lot of Lions coverage, especially on NFL Network and the Ringer podcast shows and few people picking the Lions to win.

KC is at home. SB champs. They are always going to be favored, but seeing it's only by 4.5 points now is interesting. I'm sure there are a ton of KC bets, but I would BET YOU there are a shit ton of Lions bets too. The Lions are set up to be the feel good story of the year. Kelce is also downgraded, so maybe that is why the spread dropped, but TWO WHOLE POINTS tells me, this Lions team is getting a lot of bets right now....basically IF and it's a BIG IF, but IF The Lions upset Mahomes at KC I wouldn't be surprised, let's just say that.
