Clowney..... Creative incentive laden deal Funchess.... on a make it or break it deal Suh......... on a budget deal that has incentives. He would be a rotational player now.. would be my guess Veldheer.... as depth. can play guard or tackle. He would be pretty cheap and good insurance.
So Funchess will now play the lions twice a year as a Green Bay Packer, so we can cross him off our list. We will soon see if he becomes a thorn in our side.

Lions signed LB Reggie Ragland. Another LB that can’t cover, good against the run though. Was better in KC last year after being a bit of a bust in Buffalo.

Lions fans should love the signing because he's better than they have, but is that really saying anything?
He’s more of what they have. Big, strong, slow, and can’t cover. They’re going to have to find a way to generate a rush cover the intermediate. Think you may see Davis as an early down guy and designated rusher. Probably see a lot of nickel with Collins/Tavai and 3 safeties.

There base is more 3-3-5 than anything. Think you’ll see more 3-2-6.
Hopefully we’ll see more of the being “multiple” that Patricia loves to talk about. Didn’t see much of it last year, injuries happened, but still pretty bland.

I am surprised at the negative comments on Ragland, for one the details of the contract have not been released yet. Second, he is just coming off a SB win, and reading about him he is great against the run. Lastly, he is only 26, and surely has upside left?
Decent cover skill on this play.

I’m fine with Ragland. I doubt they broke the bank on him, but he is what he is. A guy that can rotate in and play the run. You don’t want him dropping in coverage.
I think we might see Davis role reduced to specifically a rusher. He has decent timing rushing the passer but need to finish instead of just missing. Like the Ragland signing. Ragland, Tavai, and Collins is a better lineup than we had last year. Would still like Detroit to get Simmons in 1 st rd if one of the DL men aren’t there .

I really like Simmons and think he will be the best player in this draft. What the Lions have not had are true all-pro level playmakers on either side of the ball. Simmons is in the mold of Ed Reed or Troy Polumalu, guys like this take over games. Okudah will probably be great, but I prefer a guy that can be all over the field making plays.

I’d guess he’ll be fighting for a roster spot. Small money and virtually none is guaranteed. He wants to make the roster he better show something on ST.
