and this is a suck a dick, bitch statement...why am i not surprised our resident bitch rusty is offering it up?...yeah, lions play played within the rules, and won within the rules...but the nfl doesn't like it, so they change the rules....so sure, cheat a team for being innovative...its weird to me...nfl want high scoring offensive games, until the smaller market team looks to win....
I think the NFL really wants a feel-good story, and they're doing everything they can to give the Lions that shot, but instead of doing something actually innovative, Campbell has linemen catch balls. It's stupid and lame, and the NFL is just doing their part not to let the game turn in to a joke.
Dallas home game. Jimmy Johnson HOF ceremony at halftime. Dallas is a big market team. NFL favorite. They couldn't let them lose. The late flag. Skipper was dorky but he never said a word. It was distraction for the D. Besides the ref ran off before Skipper even got there then the ref told Dallas Decker was eligible. Goff was standing up during his press conference. He said if he gets fined whatever but he said Decker reported and Skipper didn't. It was a gift for Dallas. Refs served it up. It is what it is.

I am still just absolutely befuddled by the Barnes play on the cowgirls first TD. I have no idea what he was doing there? It looks like he was actually trying to avoid hitting Dak. Instead of just opening his arms to wrap up Dak, he actually pulled his arms into is body as if trying to dodge the QB. Absolutely the strangest effort I have seen in a long, long time from a defensive player...maybe ever.
it looks to me like Skipper confused everyone by running towards the officials.
WTF was he even doing?
I think it's pretty clear-cut. The strategy was to deliberately confuse the defense by having Skip approach the officials but not actually report.
And it completely backfired because they wound up confusing the officials in the process.
Just a case of Campbell trying to get "cute." This whole gimmicky "cute" act is starting to wear on me. The pass to Sewell last year was fun exactly once. So knock it off already, chuckleheads. Just line up and play some football and spare us the David Copperfield tricks and carnival sideshow antics.
My guess is the refs and the NFL in general are sick of it and are trying to send a message. Good for them. Campbell rode in on his clown car and earned this L.
Campbell told them about the play before the game, so they knew who would be eligible. Thatās why he was screaming āI told youā at Allen when he came over.
Ref got lazy and just assumed it was Skipper because he had checked in earlier.

Only theory I have is these guys are scared of getting a roughing penalty because the rules are so overprotective so he tried to throw a shoulder.

Penalty sucks and itās another example of how shitty NFL refs are, but man how bad the offense was is whatās still killing me. Just some questionable play-calling and overall gameplan from Johnson. Topped off with just some poor play OL and Goff.

I'm not as bothered by this loss as I thought I might be. We went into Dallas, a team that plays extremely well at home, on the night JJ was being inducted into the ring of fame, and did something no other team has been able to do this season. We shut down the Dallas offense. We didn't play a complete game, and still had a chance to win the game, on the road, against a very good football team. Sure, the offense shit the bed, but the defense has to come away with some confidence. We completely shut down their running game...I mean COMPLETELY. Of course, we still have an issue with shutting down a WR1, but maybe CJGJ's return helps that come playoff time? As an added bonus, we got some extra motivation by getting screwed by the officials, which is an additional chip-on-the-shoulder that will take us into the playoffs with a little extra fire.

I agree. Not eating at me as much I thought it would. Iām sure already having the division locked up is part of that.
That second playoff game would have been nice though. Do not have much confidence going to Philly or SF.
It could have cost home field advantage in the playoffs. If Frisco loses and Philly loses we could have knifed into two or even one with a win depending on other teams outcomes. Whatever. Everything feels rigged anymore lol

I mean ... the refs failed to call a tripping penalty on Hutchinson that would have allowed Dallas to run it out and ice the game.
Failed to call pass interference which would have been a first-down for St. Brown.
When games come down to the wire like that, it's almost a judgement call and you just have to hope that whomever won deserved the win. And I think both Dallas and Detroit deserved to win that game, so it's not like I feel either team got totally robbed. Dallas deserved the win every bit as much as the Lions.

false. Dallas deserved to lose by 1
They absolutely decimated our vaulted offensive line, and made rag dolls of Glasgow and Jackson. Lions didn't deserve the win.

Absolutely, I agree. 4 Detroit Lions, the Head Coach and 3 Players saying the same thing and their reaction to that call was beyond reproach. Basically, validating referee Brad Allen is either an IDIOT or a Fucking Liar!! I go with the fucking liar! That is all!!!

Iāve resisted commenting on this until I had some time to see what the NFL and the Ref himself had to say
Yes the Lions could have kicked a field goal and yes going for it on forth down in the third was a mistake but that being said the Refs blew this call. Now that I have the watched and saw all the replays Skipper did not report as eligible and clearly Decker did. The Refs then called 70 as eligible and not 68. Skipper then lined up as a guard so that washed his potential eligibility. Decker was covered by by a WR so that ruled out that potential bad call of ineligibility
Plain and simple it was a horrible call that costs the Lions the game
To me this is worse than the lack of a PI call on Pettigrew.
Blah blah blah on the Jerry Jones crap. The Fords spend piles of money on NFL sponsorship
This has to stop!!!
Goodall has to step in and admit this was a bad call. An apology as in the past does not cut it
That being said. Happy New Year to all of you, may 2024 bring you all good health, happiness and prosperity

true but i dont think it matters much . we wouldnt beat SF or Philly. the only team i feel good about playing in the playoffs is minny and they are shitting the bed and wont even make it. GB is playing hot. the Rams are playing hot. i expect a first round loss. two things cost us the cowboys game. Goff choking under pressure and Campbell not settling for the extra point after the two point conversion got flagged. probably the dumbest move i have seen hime make.

everyone is beating PHI right now but because of how things shook out the Lions may have to go back to Dallas

Such an odd take from an odd dude. The "cute" was the whole Fukkin point. Of course they were trying to confuse the defense. What would be the point of blatantly reporting Decker without some type of disguise and make it completely obvious where everyone on the field knows it's a pass to Decker? Teams do this shit all the time and as has been mentioned, they give the officials a heads-up in pre-game. The whole reason they declared Skipper eligible a few times prior throughout the game was setting up that play.
I suppose the argument could be made that had the official done what he was supposed to do and announced Decker instead of Skipper to the defense, Decker wouldn't have been that open.

I would rather go back to Dallas than go to Philly.
