Wow, it's already draft month and we Lions fans aren't even really talking draft...so weird...
Anyway, who is everyone liking? I don't follow college players too much, so not sure who I should be pulling for here...thinking it's between CB,OL, DE or WR...this isn't necessarily about prediction as much as an opportunity to discuss potential targets
I kinda like Rakestraw from when I've read...man cover guy...sounds tenacious...I do worry about his size/injury history, but if that doesn't scream brad holmes....lol. what are your thoughts on him.
Blaming and badnews know the college guys. All I know is running backs lol Kool Aid McKinstry might be good but there's a center who supposed to be a stud. With ragnow getting up there. Geez seems like we just drafted him but another killer center would be tits

players I like RB Rasheen Ali Marshall WR Jamari Thrash Louisville TE Theo Johnson Penn State OT Patrick Paul Houston OG Tanor Bortalini Wisconsin C Zach Frazier West Virginia DE Eric Watts Connecticut DT T'Vondre Sweat Texas ILB Tommy Eichenburg Ohio State OLB Chris Braswell Alabama CB Chau Smith-Wade Wash State S James Williams Miami K Cam Little Arkansas
i like Brock Bowers TE. but he will likely go too high for a doable trade up to get. he would be a great addition and having him and LaPorta at TE would be huge. hes an excellent blocker as well so would help as an additional OL for runs. and i think its something Johnson would definately build a game plan around having bowers and laporta on the field at the same time. that would be sick.
My favorite is Quinyon Mitchell CB. He is a true generational talent, as good as Sauce Gardner of the jets. The Lions need to trade up to get this kid between picks 12 to 14. They will not regret it. Pro Bowler this year.
In the 2nd round, I like Kingsley Saumataia OT, (Penei Sewell's cousin I believe) not sure he makes it to pick 61. Rotational OL this year and future starting RT.
I also believe that one of the following WRs will be our 3rd round pick. Xavier Leggette, Devontez Walker or Malachi Corley. Anyone of these 3 will either start or be in rotation.

I think Barton from Duke is my #1 right now. After that, not really sure. So hard to gauge who will be there.
I kind of like the day 2 CB’s. Renardo Green, DJ James. Outside of Mitchell and Arnold, no idea where the CB’s may fall.
Great pick, but Barton will not make it past the Phins or Eagles. Both teams need a starting Center.
Possibly, but depends if they think he’ll be best there. Plus a lot of depth at Center in draft. It’s tough, ton of depth at IOL so may push some guys back, but also a lot of versatile guys that teams covet.
I’m with you on Leggette. I’m not sure he makes it to them in the 2nd though, never mind 3rd.
Nah not me man. Badnews and Dane are the college guys. I only know the big name guys and everything else is what I hear from other people that supposedly know what they're talking about.
Wouldn’t shock me. Talent in the draft may line up and right now it’s DPJ out there.
Yeah, I think they will miss Reynolds a little bit, but having to pay ARSB 25-28 mil per year will make drafting another WR in the first round hard to swallow.

If Jamo don't break out this year, it'd be a shamo thank you drinks are two dollars all night.

Isn’t that the better way to do it? Last years 29 pick has 4 year 12 million dollar deal, with a what will probably be a really cheap option year in 2029. If you trust your evaluation you’re getting a good WR for cheap while paying your top guy.

Yeah a St. Brown extension will not impact Holmes taking a WR. They are taking BPA.

This is his year!
We need him to have a solid season. He showed some really good things late last season. He's always been a dog in the run game.

I agree, but same argument could be made for a DE here. All depends who the BPA is when we pick. Holmes is going to stick to his board which I'm good with.

You said it would be hard to swallow, so I was confused.
With the depth at CB in this draft, I don't think there is value in trading up for one. Even Arnold and Mitchell are not slam dunks.
I like some of the day 2 guys, but I don’t think it’s that deep. Add in you’ll have scheme limitations with some guys which may push them down or off the Lions board. I think there’s more nickels in that depth, too.
